TV Console Makeover

So I lamented last week (very wordy too, sorry!) about our TV, TV console and accessories dilemma. We came up with a plan and made it happen (that's usually the very hard part for us around here!).

We got the stand for the other tv (that was using the console we wanted for the other room) from the attic, got a friend to help Greg move ginormous TV to stand, and it's now all put back together in the media room (that we use as an exercise/sewing room, lol!). Not exactly my first pic, but hey it was a free solution!!

Below is the Media Room Before pic...

Our older console receiving the makeover was a Bonde system from IKEA purchased for about $150 back in 2004. Why don't they still offer it is beyond me. It's a great piece, versitle, and nice to the savings account! It's an espresso color, and needs to be off white to match the trofast IKEA toy storage system (everyone that sees our playroom always ask where we got it, we actually have 5 sections of the small ones) we have in the playroom (our movie watchin' room due to it having the surround sound).

Took apart, cleaned and two thin coats of Valspar primer...

Then used Rustoleum Satin White (really wanted Heirloom White that all of blogland raves about, but I couldn't find it anywhere, boooo!!) to finish painting it took a few coats...

Put back together and into the playroom with it's new components...

(yah, Greg was watching the game as he put everything back together)

All in all, not a bad project and I'm happy with the results! Surround sound? Check. Utilized gift? Check. Spent minimal amount of money to make it work? Check, about $40!

Now I need to sell the one that was in the playroom (totally crappy pic -I'll take a better when I list it!)... what do you think I should list it for? Originally purchased for around $350. It's not even 2 years old, about 5'x2' and is a great storage unit/tv console with a door that flips down to cover the components when not in use (just don't have a big fat receiver or you'll have our problem!).

Linking up for Metamorphis Monday at BNOTP!

The color you have for your text is entirely too pale. It is impossible to read. Thought you might want to know.

Thank you for the comment, the background is a dark almost black color so the text should pop right out! Sounds like it just didn't load properly for you, as it always readable for me.

Hey T ~ LOVE the update about the console project!

The color of the text is fine for me. I think you hit the nail on the head about it loading properly as it takes a few seconds for mine to go from the very pale to NICE! Love, Aunt J
