We arrived early and decided to check some other things out a bit since the museums do not open until 10am.
We checked out the outside of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden
|They're working on the monument!|
Then walked down to the Reflecting Pool in front of the Capitol Building since it was pretty much next to the museum.

|The three kids :)|
It's a beautiful museum inside and out, like a piece of art in of itself!
There's a special kids section on the 3rd floor, the ImagiNAtions Activity Center.
While the museum is a piece of art and the sections where all very informative. I did feel there was a ton of verbiage and not enough visuals. I say that as an adult, not just as a mother of three young children. There has to be more artifacts! I would of love to of seen it grouped together in a way that made more organization sense, it felt rather random and disconnected. I left feeling like I wish I could of seen and learned more... I wanted more of a glimpse into daily life, and culture instead of just random snippets. But all in all, can't truly complain! We had a nice morning and it's wonderful to go do stuff like this and be able to get home for a late lunch & nap/quiet times and have the rest of the day!
